A few days ago The Telegraph published some information citing a “senior industry source”, that turned out to be false. The news seemed plausible enough and many media outlets picked it up. The article got so much attention that Apple stepped in to clarify the situation. Here is what Apple spokesperson Trudy Muller said to BuzzFeed News :
“There is no truth to this rumor. We are entirely focused on switching users from Android to iPhone, and that is going great.”
Apple has been working hard to win over Android smartphone users and has no intention of developing a data transfer tool for Android users. So far Apple has been successful in this journey. This is backed up by Apple’s October earnings call, where Tim Cook informed everyone that 30 percent of the customers who purchased an iPhone in Q4 2015 had switched from an Android device.
