West Wales resident, Gareth Cross, from Aberystwyth, sued Apple for breaking the U.K.’s Sale of Goods Act and received £429 ($621) for his troubles, after a six month’s dispute in court .
He claims he got a sport edition of the Apple Watch, which was advertised as impact resistant. Ten days later he noticed a 4-5 mm crack on the screen. He claims he did not even engage in any sports activity, that would have damaged the device. The Cupertino company did not believe him, therefore the matter was settled in court. As a result, Apple removed the “impact resistant” description from its online store, right after Cross got his compensation.
